Measuring the length of aluminium foil
Application description:
Material surfaces are often so sensitive that direct tactile measurement on the surface itself with measuring wheels is out of the question. As here in aluminium foil production, a measuring wheel is then often used to measure on a free-running roller.
Problems: The thickness of the product is not taken into account in a roller measurement and the roller, which is only driven by the measuring material itself via friction, can have a lower speed due to slippage.
Result: The measurement deviations between a manual remeasurement after laying out the foil and the machine counter are rarely less than 2-3 %
Solution: The use of the µSPEED sensor offers non-contact length measurement directly on the aluminium surface, is slip-free, maintenance-free and highly accurate with values around 0.05% measuring accuracy.
