Measuring the circumference and diameter of tube furnaces in concrete plants

The regular inspection of the circumference and thus the diameter of the running rings and the drive rollers of tube furnaces in concrete plants is crucial for planning the replacement of drive components in good time and for targeted maintenance shutdowns before the expensive machine fails unplanned due to errors and have to be shut down. Up to now, the circumference of the tube furnaces, which are heated up to 1000°C, has been measured tactilely with measuring wheels. The installation and alignment of these measuring wheels is correspondingly difficult, error-prone and also exhausting for the service technicians. With the portable µSPEED systems from ELOVIS, the measurement can be carried out from a safe distance and yet with great accuracy. The µSPEED systems are connected to a light barrier, which triggers a manually applied magnet per revolution and thus automatically starts and stops the measurement, so that the circumference can be measured easily and safely. The tube furnaces have diameters of up to 6m. The drive rollers are up to 2m in diameter.
