Non-contact spray wire speed measurement
The measurement of the spray wire speed is an important factor in the coating of components. Due to the surface properties of the spray wire, however, measurement with contact measuring equipment is not desired. The non-contact laser encoder systems µSPEED combine maximum accuracy and reliability in speed measurement.
Typical application data:
- Speed measurement of spray wire
- Wire speeds: typically up to 15 m/min
- Wire diameter: typically 0.8mm to 1.5mm
- Measurement accuracy with tactile measuring equipment or via drive: typically 1 – 2%
- Measurement accuracy with non-contact length measurement μSPEED: typically 0.05%
- Amortization: 2 months, direct encoder replacement, no other modifications needed
Material examples:
- Spray wire
- Different alloys
Machines equipped with non-contact length measurement:
- Machines for Spray wire processing
