Non-contact speed measurement in a rolling stand
In rolling mills it is crucial that the material and roll speeds are determined correctly. The in-plant speed measurement can be checked easily, quickly and safely using a non-contact laser velocimeter.
Typical Application Data:
- Material and cylinder speeds: typically up to 2,000 m / min
- Measurement accuracy with tactile measuring equipment or via drive: typically 1%
- Measurement accuracy with non-contact length measurement μSPEED: typically 0.03%
- Amortization: 1 – 2 months, PC for displaying measured values and storage, tripod mounting
Measurement / Material Examples:
- Material speed on rolled sheet, tinplate, stainless steel, sheet steel, …
- Cylinder speed in rolling stands, rolling machines, straightening machines
- Troubleshooting to find wrong roll diameters
Machines equipped with non-contact speed measurement:
- Rolling mills, rolling machines, winding machines
- Paper Machines, Tissue Machines, Crepe Formers, Yankee Cylinders
- Nonwoven machines, felting machines
- Extruders, film casting machines, calenders, laminating machines, fabric inspection machines
