Non-contact final measurement of metal sheets, stamped sheet
Metal sheets and boards are cut and then palletized. A final measurement is often done manually on the pallet stack. Length errors that are detected here usually mean a larger amount of rejects. The alternative is non-contact inline length measurement with ELOVIS SLM length-section light scanner. The measurement thus takes place in the passage of the sheets at high speed and is nontheless highly accurate. Errors are recognized immediately and faulty lengths can be rejected. In the event of subsequent errors, an alarm can be triggered or the system can be switched off. A repercussion to the cutting unit to control the cutting length is also possible.
