independent of carpet thickness, polar type, material, color and structure
Hardly any material is more diverse than carpet and therefore difficult to measure in length. Carpeted floor can be 2mm to 45mm thick. The pile side can be long-fibered, short-fibered or felted, it can be woven, or manufactured as nonwoven or loop goods. Carpets have back sides out of linen fabric, latex, foam, nonwoven, felt, PVC, … The length measuring technology used must be able to cope with all these variants. This is achieved with the non-contact μSPEED length measuring systems.
Typical application data:
- Path Velocity: typically up to 300 m / min
- Measurement accuracy with tactile measuring equipment or via drive: typically 2 – 5%
- Measurement accuracy with non-contact length measurement μSPEED: typically 0.05%
- Amortization: 1-2 months, direct encoder replacement, no other modifications needed
Material examples:
- high pile carpet, low pile carpet; Structure carpet; woven rug;
- Nonwoven carpet, felt rug, natural wool rug,
- Floor coverings and carpet backs made of PVC, linoleum, cork
Machines equipped with non-contact length measurement:
- Roll cutting machines, roll cutter, cross cutter, lengthwise cutter
- Winding machines, rewinder, re-roller, doctor roller
- extruders, film casting machines, calenders
- laminating machines, fabric inspection machines
