Slip-free measurement of wet, soiled, stranded surfaces
Wet and dirty umbilical / submarine cables as well as rough stranded ropes and cables can best be measured with non-contact methods. With sufficiently good material guidance, μSPEED systems achieve consistently high measurement accuracies.
Typical application data:
- Material speed: typically up to 150m / min
- Measurement accuracy with tactile measuring equipment or via drive: typically 5%
- Measurement accuracy with non-contact length measurement μSPEED: typically 0.05%
- Amortization: 2 months, direct encoder replacement, sufficient material guidance necessary
Material examples:
- umbilical , submarine cable, power cable, data cable, …
- Ropes, rope material
Machines equipped with non-contact length measurement:
- umbilical / submarine cable laying machines, cable winding machines, cable laying ships, cable laying …
- stranding machine, rope winding machine, cable winding machine, …
